John Rowland and Sarah Broughton, husband and wife team of the Rowland+Broughton architecture studio, gave birth to a new collection of Murano glass objects for NasonMoretti. The collaboration between the architects and the company began in 2023, when NasonMoretti celebrated its centenary with an iconic retrospective exhibition, showcasing not only its technical mastery but also the enduring legacy of forms and designs that have defined the brand since the 1920s and ’30s.
This rich heritage is marked by pivotal moments, such as inclusion in prestigious private collections like those of Gabriele D’Annunzio and the Wolfsoniana in Genoa, the Lidia series, which received the Compasso d’Oro in 1955, the acquisition of select pieces by New York’s MoMA through a donation by architect Philip Johnson, and participation in leading industry exhibitions and fairs.
NasonMoretti’s historic archive became a rich source of inspiration for Rowland+Broughton, that have reinterpreted some models through a contemporary lens while paying homage to the brand’s artisanal heritage. The result is Alpine Meadow a collection characterized by the brand’s rich color palette and the remarkable versatility of glass. Shades of green, sky blue, peach, amber, milk white, and steel conjure blooming alpine meadows, frozen lakes, rugged rocks, and snow-capped peaks, while touches of gold capture the delicate shimmer of sunlight on snow.
The collection was previewed during Milan Design Week 2026, within “Frames of Reality”, an installation curated by the creative duo Barbieri Magalini, with styling by Giulia Taglialatela. The capsule collection is now available both online and at select retail location.
