Two different kinds of house and environment were the basis of two architectural projects in Barcelos (Portugal) and Pristina (Kosovo), with a DoimoCucine kitchen. Two distinct ways of inhabiting the kitchen itself, with large islands, high performance materials and solutions calibrated to their needs. Two homes, differing in size, context and language, tell the story of custom design according to DoimoCucine: not the simple adaptation of a composition, but the design of an environment capable of entering into a dialogue with the architecture of the home, responding to the habits of those who live in it, and conserving aesthetic and functional quality over time. Despite different formal approaches, the two projects share the same principle: interpreting needs, spaces and materials without renouncing the recognisability of a DoimoCucine design.
Laminam Pietra Grey for Barcelos
In Barcelos, Portugal, Emme Cozinhas of Porto has designed a kitchen for a large contemporary villa. The request was to define a modern and essential space, coherent with the clean lines of the building, while also privileging durability and ease of maintenance. The island and base units are characterised by doors and worktops in Laminam Pietra Grey ceramic, a compact and high performance material that reinforces the rigour of the composition. The tall units in heat-treated Oak bring a warm note and introduce a measured balance between materiality and minimalism.
DoimoCucine in Kosovo
In Pristina, Kosovo, the mono-brand showroom Domus Italian Furniture developed a project for a 240 square metre villa, home to a family of four. The kitchen, measuring some 40 square meters, occupies a central position inside a 130-140 square meter home, connected to the living room and a terrace. A large equipped island with numerous drawers, organises functions and becomes the fulcrum of relations between the diverse areas of the home. Naturally textured wood is combined with MDI ceramic on the island, with a section in glass. Matt black Barazza appliances and Davide Groppi lighting complete the project, showcasing the Made in Italy.
