The kitchen as advanced domestic architecture, capable of blending manufacturing tradition with contemporary innovation. This is the concept that has inspired the two new projects of Key Cucine: Methis and Echoes, on display at the Agape Milano showroom. Methis is the flagship project of the company for 2026.

Methis, modular system with precious details
Created in collaboration with designers Tellatin and Brotto, it takes its name from the ancient Greek word mètis: the practical intelligence that guides action and translates into flexibility, precision, and the ability to evolve. And it is precisely this attitude that defines Key Cucine’s new project «A groundbreaking project that combines contrasts in a unique balance,» say the designers. «Light and dark, warm and cool tones, smooth and textured surfaces: each element interacts with its opposite in a dynamic way, creating an engaging and sophisticated environment. The urban charm of concrete and the metal-effect finish harmonize with the elegance and refinement of marble and wood.»
Methis is not a single composition but a true system. An open, modular, and adaptable design framework. In this project, the kitchen island is a striking presence: crafted from coffee-colored fossil oak, it features a Calacatta iron marble countertop, crisscrossed by deep veins and warm inlays that echo the wood. However, Methis stands out in its details: the base element, designed as a frame, lightens the volume and gives the island an almost architectural sense of suspension. The countertop features a specific lower section for food preparation and a system of grooves that allows accessories to slide and nest. The double sink is integrated with movable shelves.
Behind it, the paneling that forms the backdrop to the composition is in concrete gray, and the wall system showcases Key Cucine’s design expertise: recessed glass columns, open shelving, pivoting stone doors, and a continuous surface in an oxidized metal city bronze finish that bends like a foil, accommodating functions and volumes. Marble returns, strong and iconic, even for the doors.
Echoes in mirror-finish steel and lava stone
Echoes is an unconventional vision, born from an idea by architect Camilla Benedini: a kitchen in mirror-finish steel and lava stone that blurs the line between indoor and outdoor spaces. Three essential modules — washing, preparation, cooking — are placed in the space as autonomous elements, ready to reflect and replicate. «Echoes is a design provocation: an element that does not merely occupy space, but assimilates and reflects it, while transforming it», suggests the designer.
The metal captures the surroundings and returns them, fragmented, replicated. On one hand, the reflection of the metal, which multiplies the surrounding space; on the other, the repeating modules, which generate rhythm and visual continuity.
