Within Madre system, presened by CIMENTO® during Cesaie 2026, calcium carbonate, an essential component of the formulation, does not come from conventional mineral sources, but from the recovery of eggshells generated by industrial processing. It all begins with the recovery of elements originating from the end of other production cycles, which are transformed into new resources and directly integrated into the material itself. This evolution renews the material without changing its nature. The application of Madre can be of serveral kind: new collections, new surfaces and new ways of transforming what remains into a resource for design. Madre is part of the research developed by CIMENTO® through its R&D laboratory and an entirely Italian production chain. The company’s material uses more than 90% mineral aggregates, while production is geared towards reducing waste through the recovery of casting waste and production and drying water. The company’s production facilities, located in the province of Venice, are powered by renewable energy.
CIMENTO® Madre offers architects and designers a new tool for imagining surfaces, objects and spaces. Eggshells and residues from the industrial processing of grapes, sunflower seeds, olive pits and corn are recovered and transformed into new material resources. Each element is selected for its specific characteristics and integrated directly into the mixture. The bio-fillers are supplied by AgroMateriae™, an innovative company based in Faenza, specialising in the recovery and transformation of waste from agro-industrial processing into new bio-based resources.
