For the radical renovation of a 1980s villa, Gariselli Associati choose the flooring in Atelier Désir by Listone Giordano. The architectural approach of the project translates the client’s requirements into a rigorous, measured and distinctly contemporary language. The intervention is shaped by a clear system of values - order, compositional clarity and spatial quality - which informs every design decision, from the redefinition of volumes to the careful selection of materials.
The architecture is organized around a main residential volume, complemented by a secondary structure housing technical spaces and the garage. The entire building rests on a single plinth. Internally, the layout is defined by a clear functional hierarchy: the ground floor accommodates the living areas and the master suite, while the upper level is dedicated to the children’s sleeping quarters.
At the heart of the project lies the living space, conceived as a large, fluid and scenographic environment characterized by double-height volumes and strong visual continuity. Within this architectural framework, material choices play a decisive role. The flooring in Atelier Désir by Listone Giordano extends throughout the house, acting as a unifying element that connects spaces, functions and levels. The Désir oak parquet, with its refined texture and warm, natural tones, introduces a tactile and sensory dimension that balances the project’s formal rigor.
