Fuorisalone 2026: “Be the Project”

At Fuorisalone, events, exhibitions, and installations throughout the city reinforce an annual appointment that strengthens Milan’s role as a reference point for contemporary design.

Coinciding with the Salone del Mobile, from 20 to 26 April 2026 Fuorisalone presents a comprehensive program of events, exhibitions, and installations throughout the city. A network of initiatives that each year transforms Milan into a platform for dialogue and experimentation around contemporary design. From bio-based materials, collectible design, and high craftsmanship, to new interpretations of living spaces, emerging designers, hybridizations, and dialogues between AI, the physical, and the digital, this edition’s offerings tangibly reflect the transformations of our contemporary world.

“Be the Project” is the theme chosen this year for Fuorisalone 2026: an invitation to rediscover design as a dynamic and responsible process, where the human being returns to the center as the interpreter of change. “Be the Project” means recognizing that every creative act takes shape in the dialogue between thought and matter, intuition and responsibility. It is not the finished form that defines the value of design, but the process that generates it: listening, making mistakes, transforming. In this sense, even error and failure become an integral part of the design journey, moments in which an idea confronts reality and discovers new possible direction.
