In the vibrant and fast-evolving area just behind Piazza Gae Aulenti in Milan, Archventil signs VGN Apartment, an interior design project that redefines the potential of compact living. Located on Via Viganò, this 35 sqm apartment has been transformed into a refined BnB with a strong identity, conceived for an international clientele seeking comfort, character, and aesthetic coherence.
Designed for a cosmopolitan owner who divides her time between London and Italy, the project was envisioned as an exclusive hospitality space—intimate yet distinctive, capable of offering guests a memorable stay despite its limited size.
Elegance and intimacy in a compact space

The design concept is rooted in the idea of creating a welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere, where every element contributes to a sense of balance and harmony. The quiet yet central location, set within an elegant residential context, inspired an interior that combines warmth, functionality, and a carefully curated aesthetic.
Rather than relying on conventional solutions for small spaces, Archventil approached the project with a bespoke mindset, transforming spatial constraints into design opportunities.
Colour as a defining element
Colour plays a central role in shaping the apartment’s identity. Moving away from an initially neutral palette, the studio opted for deep green tones by Little Greene, applied uniformly across the walls. This bold choice gives the space a strong, recognizable character while enveloping it in a soft and sophisticated atmosphere, enhanced by the material quality and depth of the finish.

Fluid spaces and visual continuity
A sliding wooden slatted door, painted in the same green tone as the walls, separates the living area from the bedroom without disrupting visual continuity or natural light. This solution allows the space to remain fluid and interconnected, reinforcing the perception of openness while maintaining functional separation.
Materials, colours, and proportions interact seamlessly, creating a cohesive environment where each area flows naturally into the next.

Refined materials and calibrated contrasts
In the living area, a lacquered Arredo 3 kitchen with quartz countertop, backsplash, and shelves is paired with black metal details and essential furnishings. The composition is completed by a light-toned dormeuse and accessories in deeper hues, creating subtle contrasts that add depth while preserving visual harmony.

A bespoke sleeping area
The bedroom is conceived as a multifunctional, tailor-made space, integrating a vanity corner and a custom-designed wardrobe niche. This bespoke approach allowed Archventil to optimize every centimeter, ensuring maximum functionality without compromising on elegance or stylistic consistency.

Services and finishes
The bathroom and powder room are finished in microcement, chosen for its durability, aesthetic continuity, and contemporary appeal. Finishes and material selections throughout the apartment were carefully calibrated to meet the standards of high-quality hospitality, combining practicality with refined design.

With VGN Apartment, Archventil confirms its expertise in the hospitality sector and its ability to enhance even the most compact spaces through a coherent, tailored design approach. The project fully reflects the studio’s philosophy: transforming interiors into places that tell a story—of emotion, identity, and a distinctive way of living.
