L’Ottocento presents its new flagship store in Milan

La Casa Gentile is the new Milanese flagship store presented by L’Ottocento during the Milan Design Week.

“A universe where material and design merge into bespoke furnishings with personalized planning”. This is, in the vision of L’Ottocento, the essence of La Casa Gentile (The Gentle Home), the new store of the brand in Milan. A place where precious wood species, soft nuances, and elegant compositions tell a story of high-end cabinet-making craftsmanship that transforms every interior solution - for the kitchen and other domestic spaces - into a project built to last, escaping the fleeting nature of trends.

The Home becomes Gentile (Gentle), rediscovering the value of quality living, attentive to the individual and designed to modulate around the principles of functionality and aesthetics
This design philosophy comes to life through kitchen compositions full of personality, such as the enveloping Levante with Etesia and Atlante with the Virtus island, through to the more classic Floral, and continues with furnishings designed for the living area, the bathroom, and the sleeping area. The Art Direction and Styling of the space were curated by studio Russo Sgarbossa, while the Lighting Design is the work of Contrastodesign.

Levante boiserie system kitchen with Etesia modules and island

Design by Michele Marcon for L’Ottocento the kitchen environment takes on a new, enveloping, and sophisticated mood. The Levante boiserie system embellishes the walls with its distinctive irregular-step wave processing, in the glossy Verde Inglese lacquered version. Fully functional for storage, Levante is equipped with spotlights that emphasize its sinuous shapes and develops into a structured pantry wall, while on the adjacent wall, it frames the fridge and oven columns of the Etesia model, featuring retractable doors.

The same smooth doors with rounded corners, in Noce Canaletto Silky Brown, of the Etesia model are also found in the wall unit and the base units with the wash area. The kitchen is completed by the imposing wooden island, also Etesia model, with its unprecedented square design, which houses the cooktop with integrated hood and the snack counter, designed for informal convivial moments.
The stools in open-pore black lacquered ash, with seats upholstered in Verde Inglese leather, are also signed by L’Ottocento and are part of the Etesia collection. In this enveloping space, the tactility of the Verde Alpi marble on the tops and backsplashes embraces the environment, creating a natural harmony and supporting the aesthetic balance of the kitchen.

The Levante boiserie develops throughout the room with great personality, integrating naturally with the elegant wooden door with portholes, leading to the living area, and can be applied in a coordinated manner to other areas of the home. The Dioniso sideboard in liquid metal steel lacquer, customized with a coffee machine inside, completes the furnishing. Door and sideboard are also designed by L’Ottocento. The Levante with Etesia kitchen environment is completed with Neff appliances, the Irinox blast chiller, and Nobili faucets.

Atlante Boiserie system and Virtus island

Design by Russo Sgarbossa, in this composition clean lines and geometric shapes define the kitchen environment, characterized by a refined material and chromatic contrast. Wood and steel intertwine in a skillful aesthetic balance, outlining a refined conviviality with warm tones and enveloping sensations. The Atlante storage boiserie, handcrafted in Noce Milano, develops to full height, dressing the walls with great versatility: on one side it frames the imposing refrigerated wine cellar with black aluminum and bronzed glass doors, while on the other, it is structured for kitchen operations by covering the fridge and oven columns and delimiting, through retractable doors, the brushed vintage steel base units and wall units with brass profiles of the Virtus model, which is then echoed by the island.

Glass cabinets with illuminated shelves lighten the aesthetic of the composition, introducing the living area. Here, the Meridiana table by L’Ottocento with a Rosso Lepanto marble top and a glossy garnet red leg, surrounded by Dudet chairs by Cassina, defines the area dedicated to social moments. A suggestive atmosphere, enhanced by a design continuity that alternates closed compartments with the open sections of the bookcase, where the innovative Bang & Olufsen audio system is directly integrated. The environment is completed by the Gea console designed by Russo Sgarbossa, made of glossy Rosso Granata lacquered wood. This new L’Ottocento proposal is equipped with Gaggenau appliances and Nobili faucets.

Floral Kitchen

On the lower floor, the kitchen display is completed by the Floral model, in Calce lacquered version with a romantic allure. In this model the doors with linear frames are accompanied by a large-scale portal, decorated with hand-carved friezes and designed to house the significant hood and the Ilve cooking block. The full-height configuration follows the movement of the vaulted ceiling, revealing the bespoke nature of the furnishing and the high-level cabinet-making work.

The kitchen is completed by the central island characterized by the snack counter and the Calacatta Arabescato marble top, while the adjacent niche space is transformed into a fully equipped bar area. In this configuration, the dishwasher is by Neff, while Nobili provided the faucets. An expression of high craftsmanship, Floral allows for the creation of refined and eclectic environments, merging ergonomics and functionality: thanks to a flexible design, the interior spaces can be organized with shelves and practical pantries or house appliances and the kitchen block.
